On September 12th 2007 Ethiopia celebrated it's new Millennium and to mark this special event we
have planned a special event of our own, we aim to smash the World record for a balloon
release!
In what will surely be a spectacular event over
1,500,000
Green Yellow and Red
Balloons, symbolising the colours of the Ethiopian flag will be released on the Ethiopina Millennium Easter
day.
This event will herald the dawning of the Ethiopian New Millennium in a most
spectacular style.
Proceeds from the balloon release will go towards the endowment fund for
a special Millennium Cultural and Perfoming Arts centre to be built in Ethiopia, and the setting up of many
rural health and education programmes, and supporting
organisations like the Boy Scouts of Ethiopia and various youth groups.
Our Global Millennium Book appeals also aims
to collect over 1,000,000 childrens books and to set up rural childrens libraries in various communities Ethiopia
